Stardew Valley’s Multiplayer Gets Release Window and New Details

Following a long wait, the team behind Stardew Valley has shared new details regarding the game’s upcoming multiplayer patch.

The big news is that the v1.3 update has been dated for “early 2018”. During this timeframe multiplayer will arrive for PC, and later for consoles.

In anticipation of the release, a beta is scheduled for later this year. Aimed for the October/November/December timeframe, it will provide full access to the new patch, allowing players to provide feedback.

The team took a moment to describe what the update will be like, explained as the following:

Shortly after you begin the game, Robin will offer to build up to 3 cabins on your farm. Each cabin will house a farmhand, controlled by one of your friends.

Farmhands can do almost anything the main player can do. They can farm, mine, fight, fish, forage, marry NPCs and take part in festivals. Each player has their own inventory. When a farmhand is not connected, their inventory can be managed through a chest in their cabin.

Stardew Valley fans have a lot to look forward to here, allowing themselves to share their progress and mess around in the open-world without feeling isolated.

GameRevolution had a chance to interview Stardew Valley creator Eric Barone last year. You can read the article here.
