Naughty Dog Is Waiting On “The Right Handheld”

You may have heard of Naughty Dog from other video games such as Uncharted, Uncharted 2, Uncharted 3, and Jak & Daxter. You have never heard of them making a video game for a handheld device. Despite the fact that Sony owns the developer, they aren't changing their tune for Sony's PlayStation Vita.

Naughty Dog community manager Arne Meyer confirmed that the studio is not working on anything for the Vita, as they are "waiting for the right handheld" before joining the handheld market.

Meyer did say, however, that this doesn't mean that Naughty Dog will never develop for the Vita. There are no plans for it now, but that never means that they won't ever consider it in the future.

Most likely, the developer is so busy working on The Last of Us, that the thought of jumping into the handheld market isn't on their radar at all right now. The Vita is also brand-spanking new in North America. The official release date in NA is tomorrow, so it's way too early for any developer to say never with any conviction.

What would you like to see Naughty Dog release for the Vita, if they do indeed change their tune? I'm all for more Nathan Drake, but I'm sure many would love to see Jak & Daxter as well.
