Alienware M17x Laptop Streams HD (and 3D) to Your TV

We had a chance to check out Alienware's booth at PAX East this weekend. After making our way through the massive crowds at Alienware's "biggest booth ever", we had some hands-on time with various products from their cutting-edge lineup. As expected, everything Alienware had to offer was top-notch quality, but one thing really stood out to me as someone who considers himself a console gamer.

It's not that I'm not interested in PC games, I'd just prefer to do my gaming from the comfort of my couch, on a massive 3DTV, rather than my desktop monitor. That's why Alienware's newest laptop, the M17x, is the perfect solution.

The M17x is a 3D capable gaming laptop with some beefy specs and a sleek exterior. But that's not the main draw for me. The M17x is also capable of wirelessly streaming 1080p HD, even 3D, to your TV screen. Note: you'll need a stereoscopic 3DTV and active-shutter glasses for 3D.

No need to stretch HDMI cables across your room — the M17x has a WirelessHD (WiHD) transmitter built in. All you need is an adapter for your TV (some future TV models will have this WiHD spec built-in) and you can run any PC game on your laptop, but stream the video to your TV — all from up to 30 feet away.

We watched a demonstration of Crysis 2 running on the M17x, being streamed to a nearby HDTV. There was absolutely zero lag or choppiness, just smooth 1080p gaming heaven.
