When Cities: Skylines released in 2015 it surprised a lot of gamers. Not only was it a far more content-rich game than its development budget or price point would suggest, but it offered features that even EA's SimCity (2013) couldn't compete with.
Here we are two years later, and Cities: Skylines has managed to sell more than three million copies, most of which were the direct result of positive word of mouth. Paradox Interactive has continued to support the title with updates and expansions, improving it in substantial ways. Now, that same experience that has pleasantly surprised PC gamers is coming to console.
Cities: Skylines Xbox One Edition is now available on the digital marketplace. At $39.99, it offers an uncompromising city building and management experience that has no direct competition in the console space. It also includes the After Dark expansion, which many consider to be the best of the three currently available expansion packs.
Its launch trailer debuted today to celebrate the occasion, and can be seen above.
