As early reports suggested, Pokemon Sun and Moon has performed extremely well. In-fact, it is on its way to setting records.
NPD analyst Sam Naji described Pokemon Sun and Moon as having the "strongest launch in the history of the franchise". Sales are currently 8% higher than the next best-selling franchise title, Pokemon White and Black, which were released five years ago. Current figures put it at around 3 million units sold.
The achievement has come as a bit of surprise by many who have interpreted the 3DS' slumping sales as growing disinterest in the platform.
Pokemon has several releases that have earned more than 10 million sales to-date. Current trajectory puts Sun and Moon well beyond this threshold.
