The Best Playstation 4 Games You May Have Missed

With so many titles released monthly, it comes as no surprise that a lot of good PS4 games get buried beneath big-gun triple-A titles. If you haven't already played them, you’ve certainly heard of The Division, DOOM, Bloodborne, Dark Souls III, or MLB The Show 16.

Each one of these is a great game in its own right, but thanks to each one of these, you likely haven't had the opportunity to hear about or take into consideration some other not-so popular titles. Sure, it’s a dog-eat-dog world, but we’re gamers, and we are looking for fun, not just supporting a big publisher’s commercial success year after year.

That’s why we invite you to stray a bit from the safe path with the best Playstation 4 games you may have missed. You’ll be surprised how much fun you’re missing out on.

The Witness

The Witness is a brilliant, beautiful, masterfully-crafted puzzle game. The more you play it, the more intriguing it becomes. Even the seemingly simple story of you waking up on an island, not knowing who you are and how you got there, is enough to get you exploring dozens of beautiful locations with over 500 puzzles to solve. Why not challenge yourself with a puzzle game that's a bit different?

Trackmania Turbo

The amount of pure fun TrackMania Turbo brings to the table is amazing. In essence, it is a beautifully-made arcade racer that really stands apart from the crowd, and I don't mean only visually. The campaign mode alone has more than 200 tracks set in four completely different environments each with its own gameplay style. And if that's not enough, you can race with your friends online as well. It is a tough, challenging, addictive, and frustrating game (mastering it is truly hard work), but at the same time it is immensely rewarding. You won't find many games offering the same amount of fun while playing it alone or with company.

Gone Home: Console Edition

If you are into exploration, mystery, and discovery, try out Gone Home, an adventure game that turns mundane and ordinary situations into deep and meaningful ones. You take on the role of the eldest daughter of the Greenbriar family which returns after a year abroad. She thought her parents would be there to greet her, but instead she finds only a deserted house, filled with secrets waiting to be revealed by you.

Unravel

The gaming world is already crowded with first-person shooter AAA titles and Unravel is like a fresh breeze on a hot summer day, a unique piece of the fantasy gaming world you will love to explore. You play as Yarny, a character made from a single thread of yarn, who starts a larger-than-life journey. The best part of the game is the complexity of its gameplay mechanics. As Yarny moves, the twine which he is made of unravels, leaving a trail which can be used to solve puzzles. Not only do you think of ways to solve puzzles that are in front of you, but you also have to consider your movement and how much of you will unravel before you finish your moves.

Assault Android Cactus

When you have some time to kill, or you are just looking for a quick and easy frustration release, check out the classically made but perfectly executed twin-stick shooter Assault Android Cactus. You take on the role of Cactus, an enthusiastic police android, who responds to a stranded space freighter only to discover that it’s under siege by malfunctioning robot workers. What lies ahead of you is over 25 campaign levels, bringing so much fun that you'll forget all the wrongdoing that bugged you in the first place.

Gravity Rush Remastered

Kat is back in Gravity Rush Remastered and, with her gravity manipulation power, is set once again on a mission to save the floating city of Hekseville and find out who she really is. It is a brilliant adventure, a platformer with its own unique comic book-style charm. If you are a true anime fan, this one is a must.
