Nintendo is getting a head start on the holiday season. The price tag of the Nintendo 2DS, the non-clamshell, 3D-less version of its 3DS bigger brother, has been permanently cut from $129.99 to $99.99 which is close to a 25% discount.
As before, this less expensive 2DS will come with a copy of Mario Kart 7. So far, the 2DS has sold a bit more than 2 million units, a fair outing compared to the Nintendo 3DS which has sold over 50 million units across all its different SKUs.
That said, the 2DS is a good option for parents and for those who don't particularly care for the 3D element. The price drop comes into effect on August 30.
