Original Xbox Backwards Compatibility May Come to Xbox One

Microsoft dropped a major bombshell during its E3 2015 media briefing when it revealed that Xbox 360 games would be supported on Xbox One by way of backwards compatibility. While currently only available to those in the company's preview program, widespread functionality for all Xbox One owners will be available this November.

But what about original Xbox games, you ask? Well, believe it or not, you may one day be able to pop in your dusty old Ninja Gaiden or Jade Empire disc and indulge is some wonderful Xbox nostalgia on your Xbox One. Yep, apparently we may be getting backwards compatibility support for original Xbox games on Xbox One once Xbox 360 support has been fleshed out.

In response to a fan on Twitter inquiring about support or old school Xbox games, Spencer revealed that he's asked the backwards compatibility team about making it possible once Xbox 360 game support is all set.

Would you take advantage of Xbox One backwards compatibility support for original Xbox games if the functionality does become a reality? Which games in particular would you like to revisit? I for one would love to dive back into Star War: Knights of the Old Republic. Sure, it's available on Steam, but there's just something novel about playing it on an Xbox console.
