Nintendo 3DS Sales Surpass 15 Million in the US

Console sales for Nintendo's 3D-powered platform have climbed past the 15 million mark in the United States.  As such, the 3DS is now the eighth Nintendo platform to reach this milestone.

The device has seen a sales spike of 50 percent just this year, thanks in large part to the release of the New Nintendo 3DS XL. Software sales aren't too shabby either, as the likes of Pokemon X and Y, Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS have all sold over 2 million units in the States as well.

Nintendo is set to hold an E3 Digital Event next week. Stay tuned to GameRevolution for all the exiting announcements that will undoubtedly come from the presentation.
