Warner Bros. Announces LEGO Dimensions

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and TT Games have announced a new LEGO game that is poised to rival the likes of Skylanders and Disney Infinity.

LEGO Dimensions is a toys-to-life game that features characters from the DC Comics universe, as well as familiar faces from The LEGO Movie, and The Lord of the Rings. The game will feature a "LEGO Gateway," which one would presume features similarly to Activision's portal for Skylanders. The initial release will come as a Starter Pack that includes a LEGO Toy Pad, and Dimensions will be supported in the future with additional content in the form of Expansion Packs.

The game's premise is as follows: "When a powerful vortex suddenly appears in various LEGO worlds, different characters from DC Comics, The Lord of the Rings & The LEGO Movie are swept away."

Do you think LEGO Dimensions will be able to compete in the toys-to-life space? TT Games has some stiff competition to contend with.
