Blizzard held a panel at PAX East this morning and revealed some exciting new details about Overwatch, including the introduction of two new characters and a beta which launches later this year.
The first of the new characters is McCree, a confident gunslinger with an appropriate "BAMF" belt. He carries the Peacekeeper, a quick and powerful pistol that makes short work of enemies. He also uses flashbang grenades and a special Deadeye skill which targets multiple players at once. All of this can be seen in his gameplay trailer.
Zarya is the other new face, a female tank character with a large Particle Cannon. The weapon can be shot normally or used as a device to launch grenades. She touts an additional Particle Barrier to provide protection from enemy fire and a Graviton Surge to group enemies together. Zarya also has her own gameplay trailer.
Lastly, Blizzard announced a beta for later this fall. Fans can sign up for the Overwatch beta here, and the company will likely provide more details for the multiplayer FPS in the coming weeks.
